John Keown is a Senior Research Scholar in the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University, where he holds the Rose F Kennedy Chair in Christian Ethics. He was previously University Senior Lecturer in the Law and Ethics of Medicine in the Faculty of Law at the University of Cambridge. He has produced seven books and many articles, mainly on law and ethics at the beginning and end of life. The second edition of his acclaimed book Euthanasia, Ethics and Public Policy was published by Cambridge University Press in 2018. His research has been cited by distinguished bodies worldwide, including the United States Supreme Court and the Law Lords.
