Rev. Munther Isaac | Palestinian Theologian | Last Christian in Bethlehem

An author and theologian, Rev. Munther Isaac is the pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hope in Ramallah. In December 2023, as Israel bombed Gaza, his church in Bethlehem featured a nativity scene depicting a newborn Jesus lying in a pile of rubble. His sermon became the basis for his 2025 book, Christ in the Rubble: Faith, the Bible, and the Genocide in Gaza. He is an advocate of non-violent “creative resistance.”
