Can we celebrate the Eucharist online?

In this video, I discuss whether it is possible to celebrate Holy Communion in a Livestream videoconference platform. Here are some boring but important caveats: 1. The reflections in this video are my own, not those of any denomination or congregation. If it is dodgy, blame me, not my mates. 2. The musings in this video are offered simply as food for thought, contributions to a discussion, the initial ponderings in my own ongoing reflection. 3. I am not interested in arguing that online Eucharist is idealit is not. 4. I am not interested in arguing that online Eucharist should be the normit should not. 5. I should also add that because my own church, the Church of England, requires the use of a common cup in Holy Communion, which is clearly impossible to do online, I will only be speaking about taking the eucharistic elements 'in one kind', that is to say, the priest consumes both bread and wine but the congregation only consume the bread. This situation is tolerated in certain circumstances. Churches that do not require a common cup can simply expand the discussion to include the wine. 7. Let me clarify the specific online forum I have in mind. I am speaking of a Livestream service on a platform such as Zoom in which a community gathers in real time to worship together.
