What if the resurrection isn't just the exclamation point on the cross, but the whole gospel?
In this Easter webinar, WTC Theology Principal Prof. Ben Blackwell walks through the sermons of Acts to show that for Peter and Paul, the resurrection of Jesus wasn't a footnote or a validation of what the cross already accomplished. It was the good news. Out of 14 major sermons in Acts, 10 centre the resurrection as the primary thing God is doing to bring salvation through the Messiah.
This session covers:
- Why Acts barely mentions the blood of Jesus and what it emphasises instead
- The resurrection as fulfilment of Israel's story, not a departure from it
- What an "eighth day" theology of Easter means for how we live now
- How this changes the way we share the gospel
Ben also responds to questions on healing and the kingdom, the relationship between cross and resurrection in atonement theology, and how to communicate the resurrection to children.
Recorded live as part of WTC's Easter Theological Webinar series in 2026.
