Lecture Title: Casting Our Nets: The Vision and Challenge of the Synod on Synodality Lecture Description: This lecture will provide an inside glimpse into the Synod. The Synod is the listening process undertaken by the Catholic Church in the hopes of renewing participation, governance and the mission in the life of the Church. A three-phased process beginning in 2021, the Synod began with listening sessions across the globe, followed by continental assemblies and culminating in two sessions in Rome (2023 & 2024). Dr. Anna Rowlands serves as a theological adviser to the Vatican's office for the Synod of Bishops. She has spent two years working with the General Secretariat of the Synod, and the Dicastery for Integral Human Development of the Holy See. In addition, Dr. Rowlands' work supports the research of the Holy See's dicastery on matters of politics, economics, climate and migration.
