What feels “radical” in much of Western media is often simply the act of humanising Palestinians.

Recent coverage highlighted credible reports of torture, sexual abuse, and rape of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli custody — abuses that Palestinian human rights groups and organisations like B’Tselem have long documented.

After October 7th, the world rightly condemned sexual violence against Israelis. But when Palestinians report similar abuses, the silence is deafening.

Rape is evil. Torture is evil. No victim deserves to be denied humanity, empathy, or dignity because of their identity.

Silence in the face of abuse is not neutrality — it is complicity.
