Stanley Hauerwas & Shane Claiborne: "Jesus Changes Everything" Red Letter Christians Book Club - March 2025 Join us for a thought-provoking conversation with Stanley Hauerwas, professor emeritus of theological ethics and law at Duke University, as he discusses his latest book "Jesus Changes Everything: A New World Made Possible" with Shane Claiborne. ## About Stanley Hauerwas Stanley Hauerwas is a renowned theologian and Christian ethicist whose lower-middle-class upbringing and experience as his father's bricklaying apprentice have informed his distinctive approach to theological and ethical questions. Named "America's Best Theologian" by Time magazine in 2001 (to which he famously replied that "best" is not a theological category), Hauerwas has authored or edited more than fifty books, including the influential Resident Aliens: Life in the Christian Colony (1989), co-authored with William H. Willimon. ## About the Book Jesus Changes Everything challenges Christians to stop lamenting their loss of cultural and political power and instead embrace their status as outsiders, living into the radical alternative that Jesus has always intended for his followers. This collection of accessible readings selected from Hauerwas's seminal works introduces his prophetic voice to a new generation of Jesus followers who are tired of religion as usual. ## Event Details - Date: March 2025 - Format: Live conversation via Zoom and streaming on social media - Registration: Register here to join via Zoom - Live Stream: Watch live on Red Letter Christians' Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube channels Join us for this engaging dialogue about how Jesus changes everything and what that means for Christians seeking to live faithfully in today's world.
