On Saturday February 27th 2016, the Islamic Foundation and CIOGC hosted a program entitled "Do Muslims and Christians Worship the Same God" featuring Yale University Divinity School Professor Miroslav Volf. Over 500 people attended this first of its kind program. Several scholars also took part in a panel discussion including Sheikh Amin Kholwadia of Darul Qasim Institute and Professor Matthew Milliner of Wheaton College. Special Guest Dr. Larycia Hawkins, the courageous professor that chose to take a stand against the increasing bigotry against Muslims in the media and the presidential race by donning a hijab and reminding the world that Muslims and Christians worship the same God, was also present and accepted an award from the Islamic Foundation Board.
