Rev. Amy Peeler, Ph.D.

Rev. Dr. Amy Peeler is the Kenneth T. Wessner Chair of Biblical Studies at Wheaton College and Associate Priest at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Geneva, Illinois.

After receiving her BA in Biblical Languages from Oklahoma Baptist University (2002),
she received her M.Div. and Ph.D. in New Testament from Princeton Theological Seminary (2005, 2011 ). Her dissertation focused on family imagery in the Epistle to the Hebrews and is published as
"You Are My Son": The Family of God in the Epistle to the Hebrews (T&T Clark, 2014). She served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the John Wesley Honors College at Indiana Wesleyan University (2010-2012) and has been teaching at Wheaton College since 20 l 2.

Rev. Dr. Peeler's most recent books include Ordinary Time: The Season of Growth in the Fullness of Time Series (IVP, 2026), Hebrews in the Commentaries for Christian Formation Series
(Eerdmans, 2024) and Women and the Gender of God (Eerdmans, 2022) and co-editor of New Testament in Color (IVPAcademic, 2024). Her next major projects include a book on Paul, Incarnation, and Gender dynamics in the church and a commentary on the Pastoral Epistles in the New International Commentary on the New Testament Series.

Previously, she served as a Senior Research Fellow with the Logos Institute at the University of St. Andrews (2018) and currently serves as a member of the New Living Translation Committee and on the Board of Center for Pastor Theologians.
