What if the Eucharist is less about personal renewal and more about becoming one body with those who are suffering?
Join us to our next Spring Theology Lecture at Saint Thomas Church, listen to this lecture about Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 12 in a new way: when one suffers, all suffer together. When one rejoices, all rejoice together.
The Eucharist does not only nourish us individually. It draws us into a shared nervous system, a living body that feels the pain of others and is moved to act on it, making real the communion Jesus envisions for all of humanity.
This Saturday, May 16, Saint Thomas Church welcomes Prof. William Cavanaugh for the Spring Theology Lecture:
Prof. William Cavanaugh is Professor of Catholic Studies and Director of the Center for World Catholicism and Intercultural Theology at DePaul University, and author of The Uses of Idolatry.
