You Tube Theology

Dr Simon Oliver introduces a module belonging to the MA by distance learning programme of the Dept of Theology and Religious Studies in the University of Nottingham. This module focuses on the work of those, mainly French, Catholic theologians in the mid-twentieth century who reacted to the conservative neoscholasticism of the time (typified in the works of Garrigou-Lagrange) and produced ‘the new theology.’ This was the movement of ‘ressourcement’ that is found in the work of Henri de Lubac and Yves Congar, and which pave the way for the Second Vatican Council.
