The Apostles Creed began to take shape as the Rule of Faith, which is found in some of our very earliest and most important post-apostolic writers. It took shape gradually, reaching its mature form in the mid-fourth century, used as a teaching tool to catechize children after their baptism and before their profession of faith and to guide the instruction of converts. For most of two millennia it has also been an integral part of Christian worship and it is regarded one of the ecumenical creeds confessed by all Christians, in all places and times.
The seminary faculty is privileged to explain the twelve articles of faith again for our time, as the Reformed have always done, and we hope that you find this series encouraging in your Christian journey as you look to God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit for salvation and comfort, and await the Lord's return.
