Most Christians read the Bible as the story of how we make our way up to God. But the Bible tells how God comes to be with us—and always intended to, creating heaven and earth as the home he shares with us. The Old Testament promises that God will fill creation with his glory and return to rescue his people after the Babylonian exile. The New Testament sees these fulfilled in the Holy Spirit and in Jesus himself. Together, they reveal God re-establishing his covenant and renewing creation. Everything looks different in this light.
