Emeritus Regius Professor of Moral Theology at Oxford, he founded the McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics, and Public Life. His bestselling book Colonialism: A Moral Reckoning (2023) sparks debate on the British Empire’s legacy. Other works like What’s Wrong with Rights? (2020) and In Defence of War (2013) explore rights, war, and ethics. A CBE recipient (2021) and Conservative peer in the House of Lords (2025), Biggar chairs the Free Speech Union and writes for The Times and The Spectator.
