I first heard of Dr Craig Keener through a Ken Fish podcast (God is Not a Theory). Then I grabbed is audio commentary on the book of Revelation and his book MIracles Today - the supernatural work of God in the modern world. In this conversation, Andy Mason interviews Dr. Craig Keener, a professor of Biblical Studies at Asbury Seminary. Dr. Keener shares his journey from being an atheist to becoming a devoted follower of Jesus and a renowned theologian. He discusses his insatiable craving for truth and knowledge, which led him to immerse himself in the Bible and study the background and context of scripture. Dr. Keener emphasizes the importance of depending on God and valuing what matters in light of eternity. He also encourages listeners to repent and turn back to God, making decisions in light of the kingdom age. Keener is Professor of Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary. He is the author of 37 books with 1.4 million copies in circulation. His books have won 13 national and international awards, including six from Christianity Today. Dr. Keener has authored roughly 100 academic articles, seven booklets, and roughly 200 popular-level articles. His "The IVP Bible Background Commentary: New Testament," which provides cultural background for each passage of the New Testament, has alone sold more than half a million copies.
