Friends of the Burke Library Fall Lecture, Columbia University, November 8, 2010.
Dr. Brian Stanley, Professor of World Christianity and Director of the Centre for the Study of World Christianity at the University of Edinburgh, spoke on the extent to which speakers and delegates at the World Missionary Conference held in Edinburgh transcended the limitations of an imperial age and began to glimpse some of the directions that world Christianity would take over the ensuing century. The event took place on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in Union Theological Seminary?s Social Hall.
The lecture was hosted by The Friends of the Burke Library in honor of the 100 year anniversary of the World Missionary Conference in Edinburgh (1910). The Burke Library holds the records from this conference as part of its world-renowned Missionary Research Library.
