In Mark 14 where Jesus is praying in the garden the night before he's killed, you hear Jesus praying in private. Not for show, in private with his father and he calls him Abba, father.

And Paul is showing by believers appropriating that word as we address him, Paul is showing us as personally as he can that we are being given the very relationship with the Father that the Son has always enjoyed.
