How do nationalism, consumerism, and modern culture shape the way we worship?
This Saturday, May 16, Saint Thomas Church welcomes Prof. William Cavanaugh for the Spring Theology Lecture:
Idolatry and The Eucharist: How to See God in Things without Making a God of Things.
Drawing from theology, politics, culture, and the life of the Church, Prof. Cavanaugh will explore how our desires are shaped — and how the Eucharist reorders them toward authentic freedom and communion.
Prof. William Cavanaugh is Professor of Catholic Studies and Director of the Center for World Catholicism and Intercultural Theology at DePaul University, and author of The Uses of Idolatry.
Saturday, May 16 at 11am
In person and online
