This panel event was hosted on April 10, 2026 by Fons Vitae at the Duke Divinity School as part of a colloquium celebrating the distinguished career of Professor Janet Martin Soskice during her final semester at Duke.

Janet Martin Soskice has served as William K. Warren Distinguished Research Professor of Catholic Theology at Duke Divinity School since 2020 and will retire at the conclusion of the Spring 2026 semester. A leading voice at the intersection of theology and philosophy, her work engages questions of religious language, the doctrine of God, creation, and the relationship between theology, metaphysics, and Scripture.

Reinhard Huetter is a Visiting Professor of Catholic Theology at Duke Divinity School.

Curtis Freeman is the Ruth D. Duncan Director of the Baptist House of Studies and a Research Professor of Theology and Baptist Studies at Duke Divinity School.

J. Warren Smith is a Professor of Historical Theology at Duke Divinity School.

Nicholas Lombardo, OP is an Associate Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame.
