What is sin? To what extent does sin effect humanity?

The ideas behind the Bible's words for sin (hamartia, paraptōma and adikia) are outlined. The extent to which sin effects humanity is discussed. Responses to sin are mentioned. Donald Macleod was a Presbyterian who subscribed to the Westminster Confession of Faith. He wrote the several popular books on theology.
