While no one wishes to denigrate the importance of wisdom, Christians sometimes do so inadvertently by treating it as a gap-filler, as if wisdom kicks in only when there isn't a clear rule or fact to solve a problem. This lecture argues that wisdom is not really about applying rules and facts, but is a holistic sense or perception of the divinely-established natural order. As such, wisdom must be a central feature of the entire moral life and of all intellectual endeavor. Dr. David M. VanDrunen teaches at Westminster Seminary California, where he is the Robert B. Strimple Professor of Systematic Theology and Christian Ethics.
